Due to health and safety concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the NJSBDC at Rutgers-Newark will continue to provide counseling and training services virtually to all clients.

All workshops and training events have been moved to our virtual platform on ZOOM. Registration can be completed at http://rnsbdc.eventbrite.com. All access information will be sent to join the events online. Participants should ensure that they have access to a computer or mobile device with Internet.

SBA EIDL (Economic Injury Disaster Loans)

SBA has set aside $50Billion for the Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) program and individual businesses can apply up to $2 million per loan. The Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA) Help-Desk number to call for more information is: 1-800-659-2955 or Call the SBA office for assistance. EIDL loans are not for loss income but to keep businesses “afloat” (lease payments, equipment, operating assistance, employee wages, etc.) during this Coronavirus crisis. Micro Business Loan Program

NJ Economic Development Authority's Micro Business Loan Program makes financing of up to $50,000 available to for-profit businesses legally registered to do business in New Jersey, with a business location in New Jersey (home-based businesses are not eligible), who have annual revenues in the most current fiscal year of no more than $1,500,000, and 10 full-time employees or less at time of application.

Startup businesses are eligible for financing but must demonstrate to the Authority that they have completed an entrepreneurship training program or Small Business Development Center counseling sessions.
