Greetings:

Last month, Congress created programs to help keep small businesses and non-profits afloat during this pandemic. Just last week, the money from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was depleted, but little of that relief reached the 2 million Black-owned businesses across this country.

The Congressional Black Caucus is fighting for more resources to support the entrepreneurs and job creators in our communities. That is why we demanded the inclusion of Community Development Financial Institutions and Minority Depository Institutions in the funding to replenish these programs.

Today, Congress passed legislation to provide $484 billion in emergency aid to small businesses, nonprofits, hospitals, and health care workers. It included $321.3 billion in funding to support the PPP, and $30 billion for Community Development Financial Institutions and Minority Depository Institutions. The emergency relief also gives $60 billion for separate disaster loans to small businesses.

Please join the Congressional Black Caucus in a telephone town hall on Monday, April 27th at 2:00 pm to hear more about how to access these resources. Find more information here and below:
